Curate

 Manage Your Attention!!

The amount of information available on the Net can be overwhelming, so this session is dedicated to curation - the methods of getting filtered information sent to you + organizing that information.

Resources - SEOMOZ Curation

Advice
  • Google Alerts - if the alerts do not help you with a topic or send you a new discovery
    • change the key words or add a eky search word to make the results less general
  • Twitter - info in the tweets is not helpful or too general - unfollow the person tweeting
  • Google Plus - too many posts or not meaningful information - remove the person from your circle
  • Newsletters - repeat topics or too much advertizing - unsubscribe
You only have so much time, so what you are reading should help you with school work OR be a new discovery.  If you are spending too much time just trying to read Tweets, posts + email - start deleting!
